Thursday is the start of the PGA Tour season and I am as excited as anybody can be.
I have joined 3 fantasy golf groups so I thought my first blog would be about the people I selected for this week. I will discuss and make my picks every week along with other various subjects during the year.
Everybody is excited to see what Tiger does this year but unfortunately he is not in this tournament :(. TOC over the years has told me not to stray away from Australians so I got to pick them! I have decided to go with Geoff Ogilvy, Jason Day, Stuart Appleby, and Adam Scott. All have had on-and-off seasons this year but all seem to be at the top of their game as the season begins. The only person I am skeptical of is Jason Day, as he died off in the FedEx Cup Playoffs this year and has not done much since. We all remember Stuart shooting 59 and defeating a charging Tiger Woods at JBWere Australian Masters. Not to mention he has won this tournament 3 times. Geoff is going for his 3rd straight TOC and is in top form to capture the title with his performances in Australia. Adam Scott is also looking to continue his success from 2010 into the new years. Dubbed as the perfect swing, he has changed his swing with Butch where he does not look like a mechanic (not promoting the upcoming movie The Mechanic). I expect him to contend in the PGA Championship this year.
My other four picks are Ernie Els, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, and Ian Poulter. Everybody remembers the great battle of Ernie versus Tiger way back so I am hoping that happens again. Bill Haas seems like a guy that wants more than just tournament wins (majors) so I expect another competitive season from him. Steve Stricker just does not have much left in him (4 years) so this could be his final push to contend in majors over the next two years. Ian Poulter is probably the most competitive person next to Tiger Woods and that is why I will pick him almost everytime he is in the field (I wish I could pick him everytime but only 10 times allowed).
Well this is my first blog post but I am excited as the weeks go on and hopefully I get more than 3 followers. Hey maybe Titleist will even want to sponsor my website with the thousands of followers that I might generate!
